Senior Spotlight~Summer Mundy

Our Senior Spotlight this month is...

Summer Mundy

Summer is a senior at South Aiken High School. Her life verse is Song of Songs 4:7, "You're altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you."

1. What is one place in the world you would like to visit?
Africa! I have always wanted to go on a mission trip to Africa. I think it would be super cool!

2. What is your favorite thing about being a senior?
My favorite thing is being in Teacher Cadet. I absolutely adore the time that I get to spend with my second graders.

3. What advice would you give girls entering high school?
The friends you have now, probably won't be the friends you have when you graduate. Don't stress over friendships. God will take people out of your life but you will soon realize that something much better is on its way.

4. How has the Student Ministry impacted your life?
The Student Ministry has impacted my life greatly. It gives me something to look forward to during my week. I know that anyone in the Student Ministry would be there for me if I needed them and I am so thankful for that. #lovethisministry

5. Sweet tea or soda?
SWEET TEA! DUH!!!

Thank you, Summer, for letting us get to know a little about you! If you see Summer around town, make sure to stop and say Hello!

Morgan

Gold

Hey ladies! Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! Make it through this week and you are on Spring Break! I know you are so ready for it!

Have you listened to any good music lately? I am in love with the song featured on the blog today...Gold by Britt Nicole! Have you heard it yet? It is awesome! Britt drew inspiration from some of the deeply devoted fans she has had over the years. She has gotten tons of letters telling her, 'I'm struggling, I'm being bullied, I don't feel like I fit in...' To reach out to her followers-and send a potent yet joyful message of self-worth to her fans-Britt created the song "Gold," a slick and shimming self-empowerment anthem. The message of "Gold" is to remind us that no matter what we have been told you are worth so much more than the words of another. Once you know that, no one can ever steal your shine!  Britt says, "I'm putting out a message that everyone needs to hear, regardless of where they're coming from. It's about knowing that you're loved, that you're worth something. It's a message of hope!"

Wow! What a godly woman! I know we all face times in our lives that we struggle with self-worth, being bullied, not fitting in to a certain crowd, but know there is a God that created you and loves you for you! You are worth more than GOLD to Him!

Here are a few lines from the song:

You were walking on the moon, now you're feeling low
What they said wasn't true, you're beautiful
Stick and stones break your bones, I know what you're feeling
Words like those won't steal your glow, you're one in a million

This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold

So don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah there are days when we all feel like we're messed up
But the truth is that we're all diamonds in the rough
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out
You glow like the moon, you shine like the stars
This is for you, wherever you are

I hope this song makes your day like it does mine! Download it and play it as a reminder that you are worth more than GOLD!
