Fantastic Fall

We have had a very busy fall this year in the Student Ministry with many great opportunities to fellowship together, serve others, and grow in our relationship with God. Here are just a few highlights:

Fall Festival is always fun at Millbrook. We had many girls who helped make salvation bracelets with kids and painted faces while sharing the gospel! I saw many cute cowgirls and Indians!

I love doing Think Pink Night in October! This year we made bracelets for cancer patients. I can't tell you how excited the cancer center was when I dropped off the bracelets! They loved them!

In deep thought...

The high school girls got to participate in an "Arty Party" led by the creative LeighAnne Clifton! We were put in the Christmas spirit with a super cute Christmas Tree Canvas painting!

Techno Tuesday

Hello ladies! Sorry I have been so slack the past few weeks for our Techno Tuesdays! Got another Instagram for you today! Marian Jordan is one of my favorite female, Christian authors and is the founder of Redeemed Girls Ministries. Every Monday, redeemedgirls on Instagram challenges girls and women to memorize a scripture verse for the week. They are great and they not only help me each week, but challenges me to hide God's Word in my heart! Pray about following redeemedgirls on Instagram and take the challenge each Monday to memorize scripture! I promise it will allow you to see growth in your walk with Christ!

Senior Spotlight~Bailey Parker

Today, I am starting our Senior Spotlights for the Class of 2014! We have another great group of senior girls this year and I am excited for you to get to know them a little better!

Our first Senior is...

Bailey Parker

Bailey is a senior at South Aiken High School. Her life verse is Galatians 1:10: "I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."

1. Where is your favorite place to visit?
My favorite place to visit is Disney World. There's not too many places a 17 year old can go to and not be judged for acting like a child.

2. What do you like to do for fun?
I like to play volleyball for fun and go to the beach.

3. How has the Student Ministry impacted you?
The Student Ministry has given me constant support throughout school. Friends come and go, but I can always count on you guys to hold me accountable and always be there for me.

4. What advice would you give to a girl about high school?
My advice to a high school girl would be to not change for anyone. You WILL lose a lot of friends to partying or other things you don't need to get involved with, but don't change to fit in. Be different and stand out of God!

5. Mexican food or Chinese food?
Mexican for sure!

Thank you, Bailey, for sharing your heart with us! If you see Bailey around, make sure to say hello and pray for her as she prepares for college!

Loving Jesus together,
Morgan

Social Media

I love Social Media, don't you! I mean, if it weren't for Facebook, I wouldn't be able to see pictures of my best friend from college's children or talk to someone I haven't seen in years! Instagram just makes me happy seeing life through pictures. I love seeing Tweets from people that make me laugh or encourages me! And if it weren't for Pinterest, I would be so less creative both in my home and in the kitchen I think! I also wouldn't be able to write this blog or read many other blogs that just make me smile!

You know what is great about all this social media? They give us an outlet, everyday, to say what we want to our friends and other people. As girls, we love this! And what better way to shine God's love to our friends than through social media. You can do so much good with it: post what God is doing in your life on Facebook, share bible verses that you read during your quiet time, take pictures of a fun youth event we do or create cool verse art and post on Instagram, create a board on Pinterest on Scripture that you love, and just be real with how God is changing your life!

Let's change the way the world uses Social Media, ugly and mean, and use it for God's glory. Let's speak love and life to our friends and others. Let's encourage one another and bring blessings and hope to our friends. Let's be a light to this dark world using social media in a positive and uplifting way.

Try it. It will change you!

Loving Jesus together,
Morgan

Techno Tuesday

Happy Tuesday girls! I have heard so much response from the last blog about the Word App which makes me excited! If you can't download apps, they do have a Twitter account and an Instagram account. Just look up The Word App and follow there!

For today's Techno Tuesday I am sharing a great YouTube channel for you to follow and watch. We all know Ducky Dynasty and the wonderful values and message they are trying to portray in this world. Willie's daughter, Sadie, and her friend, Kolby, have started a YouTube series called: The New Different. Every Monday night they will post a new video sharing their thoughts about their walk with Christ. They share scripture and are very real with the audience. I love that they are two teenage girls who are spreading the love of Christ through social media! To find it, search "thenewdifferent" (yes, all one word) and it should pop up. You may have to add sadie robertson to the search as well. You can also follow them on Twitter @thenewdifferent. They will tweet when a new video is up!

I hope and pray that these videos encourage you and help you with your daily walk with Christ.

Loving Jesus together,
Morgan

Think Pink Night

Happy Thursday girls! Wanted to tell you about a fun opportunity for you this month to serve others in our community.

Our Think Pink Night will be Thursday, October 17th from 7-9pm in the ROCK!

This year I am changing it up a little and instead of making care bags, we will be making beaded bracelets for our Breast Cancer patients in Aiken. These will be very easy and of course super cute! I know the women will love them! We will also have yummy snacks and a great time of fellowship together. I hope you will mark your calendars (or put in your phones!) to participate in this event! The best part, it is FREE! Don't need to bring a thing!

Let's Think Pink and help brighten the day of someone in need!

Loving Jesus together,
Morgan

Techno Tuesday

Happy October gals! Can't believe it is already October! Time is flying that is for sure! Hope you are having a great week so far! I am going to try something new on the blog today (and Tuesdays) called Techno Tuesday. There are so many wonderful technology out there that can really encourage and help you as you walk daily with the Lord. I know that is not always the case, but I am starting to find some great things as I research. If this generation could really start using their technology for good, you could start a change!

On Tuesdays, I will share with you things I have discovered from technology. It could be an App, YouTube video or channel, Instagram feed, Twitter account, blog, website, etc. If you are able to use this technology I find, I would encourage you to! Lord knows we need all the help we can get with this crazy, media world we live in!

The first feature today is called the Word-A Christian Daily Devotion App.

This is a FREE App that you can download on your phone, iPad, etc. It is a beautiful daily pictorial devotion designed to inspire and encourage your walk with God. Each day you open the App, there will be a scripture verse designed through a picture.

Then when you click the corner of the picture, a daily devotion based on the scripture is presented for you to read and study. They are short (should take less than 5 minutes to read), encouraging and challenging.

You are also able to share the picture on other social media like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. I love opening the App each day and seeing what the new picture verse is. They are so beautifully designed! I sure do wish I was that creative!!!

To download, go to the App Store and type in Word devotional and it should be the first to pop up. (Look for the icon that I put at the top)

Search for the App today. I promise you won't be sorry! I would love to hear feedback from you about how you like/dislike the App!

Morgan
